Re: New Brakes For The Win
The brakes have been on the car since I got it. It had new pads when I got it in 06, but I think someone machined the rotor and machined the backside a little to much, the inner pad slid under the caliper and the piston hit the rotor. That was the original damage. The computer shut off the rear brakes because it thought they were leaking. I started driving it again with two brakes (I know, I'm completely CRAZY, driving a cammed LS1 using only two brakes) and the computer turned them back on (God only knows why) and the piston came out and demolished the rotor pretty nicely before getting stuck and locking up that wheel. I lost my posi for a little bit before I managed to demolish the side of the piston enough to get the car home. Then, I drove it to church once without using the brakes at all. Then I parked it, not enjoying driving with three brakes and a fluid leak using the e-brake and neutral. (Again, bats*** crazy) So, now, I'm fixing it.
