Default How To: Clean Foggy Headlights

That haze that the Sebring, Camaro, J-bodies etc. get that is like a film is not easy to work on. Here is a trick to help you out.

Meguiar's and 3M both make a plastic cleaner in two different bottles one cleaner one polish. Running nearly $20.00

You can have the same if not better cleaning effect for roughly $2.00. All you need is the following:

2 rags: one wet one dry
1 tube of plain crest (or toothpaste of choice)

You don't need anything other then maybe a whitening agent in it. Nothing like Aquafresh with all the colors and additives just plain toothpaste (even a cheap travel size)

Take the damp cloth and add a little toothpaste. Go in circles like a buffer, follow with the dry cloth to see the results. Your headlights will shine like days of old before you got this film over the light.

Hope this helps...

I really need to clean my Grand Am's headlights. I some Meguiars stuff that usually clears them up, but I'm afraid I need to pull off the lenses and clean the inside. I really don't wanna go through that whole process

If I decide to do it, I'll try this method

Yeah it works great on the outside cover. My sisters Cav. had it bad, used it on the cover and it was good to go. Much cleaner. The 3M stuff I have was like $8.50 a bottle and it does not come out any better.
